Regional Out of School Time Networks

TXPOST is a proud partner of Regional OST Networks across the state of Texas!

Regional networks are groups of providers and stakeholders who meet regularly to offer professional development opportunities, discuss best practices, work on quality initiatives, engage in system building work and advocate for the field of out of school time. If you are a provider interested in learning more about starting or connecting with a Regional Network, please contact TXPOST’s Executive Director.

Currently operating networks include Dallas AfterschoolFort Worth SPARC, the Central Texas Afterschool Network (serving the greater Austin community), Excel Beyond the Bell SA (serving the greater San Antonio community), and the South East Texas After-School Association (serving 13 counties in the region).

TXPOST has met with stakeholders in El Paso, Tyler, Lubbock, and the Rio Grande Valley to discuss the needs of their communities and explore forming networks to connect out of school time providers.

While the specific activities of each Network vary by community and need, their members are typically comprised of out of school time professionals, for whom they provide networking and training opportunities on topics such as:

  • Program Quality
  • Safety (CPR & First Aid, Emergency Procedures, etc.)
  • Curriculum
  • Managing Staff
  • Advocacy

Some regional networks host community events, such as a ‘Breakfast of Champions’ to honor local supporters of afterschool and other out of school time programs. They may also organize a ‘Lights On Afterschool’ event to highlight the great work of local OST providers in the community and raise awareness of critical OST issues.

TXPOST thanks all regional OST Networks partners for ensuring that Texas’ resources are maximized to improve outcomes for the children and youth of Texas.
