Sr. Study Director, Westat. Board President
Kristin Nafziger is the Senior Study Director at Westat. She is a nationally recognized leader in the areas of process and quality improvement, strategic planning, and performance management. Nafziger is in her seventh year as Project Director for the Texas Education Agency’s federally funded 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) afterschool program, which is the largest competitive and discretionary grant available through the TEA. She also currently leads the collaborative benchmarking efforts within the federally funded Building State Capacity & Productivity Center to provide state education agencies information on best practices from business and non-profit sectors.
Prior to founding Edvance in 2005, Nafziger was an integral part of the Education Initiative with the American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC), where she served as a program manager for the Baldrige in Education Initiative, a national effort bringing excellence and equity to education through the implementation of Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award criteria and other quality tools.
Active in the education community, Nafziger serves on the Advisory Council for the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University and participates on the Dean’s Advisory Council within the College of Education at the University of Houston.
She earned a B.B.A. in Management in 1994 and a M.A. in Communication Studies in 1996 from Texas Tech University.
